In 2023, New Zealand Red Cross moved to a new model of working with our members in Areas across the country.

Part of ensuring the success of our Areas structure is having clearly defined roles and responsibilities for the new teams of elected and employed Red Cross People who work closely together.

This Matrix presents a high-level picture of what each role at Area level involves, and how they work together to support the organisation and our people.

Roles and responsibilities guidance

A guidance document has also been created for each role to provide more detail. They contain further examples about some of the things each role could involve, to give a sense of the types of activities a person might do or get involved with while carrying out a role.
