Since February 2022, the escalation of conflict continues to have significant humanitarian consequences. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and Red Cross Red Crescent Societies have been delivering crucial support, including:

Supporting families who have been separated from their loved ones.
Supporting the basic needs and safety of civilians.
Providing essential infrastructure and emergency housing support.
Promoting respect for International Humanitarian Law.

Red Cross teams will continue to deliver urgently needed support to the people and communities affected, including those most vulnerable and in hard-to-reach areas.

More than two years since the escalation of armed conflict in Ukraine, thousands of people have died or been injured, millions have fled their homes, and vital infrastructure has been heavily damaged or destroyed. Humanitarian needs remain massive.

The International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement continues to work tirelessly to provide life-saving assistance and humanitarian support to those affected, often in extremely challenging conditions. With your help, Red Cross teams can continue to respond to the humanitarian needs of people, families and communities who have had their lives thrown into chaos. Please donate now if you can.

How your support will be delivered

Funds donated to this appeal will be used to help people impacted by the escalating humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, with much of the funding directed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), who are working on the ground providing support to those in need.

Funds also enable New Zealand Red Cross to deploy International Delegates to work directly with Red Cross teams that are responding to the crisis, and to assist displaced Ukrainians in New Zealand who have escaped the conflict and are rebuilding their lives.

Also, don't forget that when you donate $5 or more, you can claim 33 percent of it back from IRD.
