Fundraising event coordinator
Role description
Fundraising event coordinators organise fundraising events in local communities such as movie nights, sausage sizzles, and bake sales. They also support our Dragon Boat Festival team, manage volunteers and oversee the operation of fundraising activities.
You'll report to our Community Fundraising team, who will support you in your role.
Your tasks
- Support Community Fundraising with planning and coordinating fundraising events.
- Liaising with Community Fundraising on tasks and duties.
- Managing a team of fundraising event volunteers.
- Onboarding and inducting new volunteers.
- Creating event rosters and scheduling volunteers to shifts at events.
- Managing volunteer rosters for events.
- Making sure materials, supplies, and equipment are arranged for all events.
- Delegating support responsibilities to event volunteers.
- Making sure cash handling processes are followed at events.
- Ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing processes are followed at events.
- Reporting event results to Community Fundraising.
Location
Our Community Fundraising team is based in Wellington, with events taking place in the Wellington Region – including Central Wellington, Petone, and Lyall Bay. There's opportunity to carry out some coordination tasks remotely.
Volunteer requirements and training
We need friendly, adaptable people who are enthusiastic and take initiative.
You should be organised, reliable, and committed to undertaking your role and be able to work independently.
You'll need to organise your own travel to and from the events.
Our team will provide the training you need to undertake your role.

- Use personal protective equipment for any work activities that may need it to stay safe.

- Ensure all events are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and wellbeing guidelines.
