Uber x Red Cross Clothing Drive returns for 2024 – donate from your doorstep

We're teaming up with Uber again to make donating easier than ever!
On 19 October, from 10am to 4pm you can book a FREE Uber Package pickup via the app to collect your pre-loved, quality clothes right from your doorstep. These donations go straight to our Red Cross Shops and support our work improving the lives of vulnerable people.
Available in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
How to donate on 19 October
It’s easy! Firstly, give your wardrobe a good Spring clean out! Gather your quality pre-loved items into a bag or box, no heavier than 20kg, so it can comfortably sit in the boot of a midsize car. Then:
- Open the Uber app.
- Scroll to the Red Cross Clothing Drive image and tap.
- You should see 'Red Cross Clothing Drive’ set as the drop off spot.
- If you're in an eligible city the Red Cross Clothing Drive promotion should automatically apply, so check that the trip is showing as a $0 amount
- Confirm!
Having issues or can't see the tile? Head to > Package > type in 'Red Cross Shop' > Pick the first option shown > Confirm
Volunteer for the Drive
Help support the Drive by being part of a team receiving donations of clothing at our collection points.
There are 11 locations to choose from:
- six in Auckland
- two in Christchurch, and
- three in Wellington.

Our Red Cross Shops need quality, saleable clothing and accessories. As a guide, if it’s something you’d feel great about giving to a friend, then it’s perfect to donate!
